What Is Death and What Happens After Death?

Death is an eternal sleep/rest from our current earth. The rest that the dead are experiencing allows them to know nothing that is currently, happening in the earth. The sleep is not a permanent rest/sleep. When Jesus comes back in the great resurrection He will call the dead/sleeping to rise. Everyone who died in Christ will live in paradise. Everyone who died outside of Jesus Christ will be condemned. Jesus shows us on the cross that there are two places to go after the great resurrection and one place is paradise with Him and our
Father or outside of paradise. Heaven Awaits!

John 11:11-14 11These things spake he: and after this he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus is fallen asleep; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. 12The disciples therefore said unto him, Lord, if he is fallen asleep, he will recover. 13Now Jesus had spoken of his death: but they thought that he spake of taking rest in sleep. 14Then Jesus therefore said unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.

John 5:28-29 28"Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice 29and come out—those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned.

Luke 23:39-43 39 One of the criminals who were hanged railed at him, saying, “Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us!” 40 But the other rebuked him, saying, “Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” 42 And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” 43 And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”
